Serena Williams teams up with Muchova in Berlin doubles
US tennis great Serena Williams, on the comeback trail nearly four years after retiring, will partner Czech Karolina Muchova in the doubles at next week's Berlin Open grass court tournament.
The American signed her return to the courts, double-handed, this week at the Queen's tournament in London.
Williams was initially to team up with Canadian Victoria Mboko, but the latter injured her knee earlier this week.
"We are going to play doubles together. I really want to. Not every day an athlete of this importance, on the track but also in the sport in general, asks me to play doubles with her. I hope we have fun," explained the German. The post Serena Williams will play the doubles of Berlin next to Karolina Muchova appeared first on THE NATIONAL.
For her second double-back tournament, Serena Williams will be partnered with Czech Karolina Muchova, world 10th, next week at the WTA 500 in Berlin. Canadian Victoria Mboko, her partner at Queen's, is injured in the left knee.
