Nuevo León will transform its 11 militarized preparatory schools into Citizen Prepas from August 31.
The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) opened the door for militarized schools in the country to continue operating, but with a transformation of their curriculum, to move now to a scheme based on “civic citizen concepts” in line with Mexican humanism.
SEP confirmed that militarized schools will disappear in the 2026-2027 cycle in order to prevent abuse of campuses and provide safe education.
