Unionized workers of Seoul's city buses vote to strike over wages
Unionized workers of Seoul's intracity buses on Friday voted to go on strike next week as talks over basic pay and hourly wages have shown little signs of progress. The intracity bus union said 87.94 percent of its 16,089 workers voted for the planned strike that was scheduled for next Wednesday. The Seoul City Bus Workers' Union under the Korean Federation of Automobile Workers' Unions passed a vote on the 11th regarding industrial action to conclude the 2026 wage agreement. According to the voting results released by the union on that day, 16,716 out of 18,296 registered members voted, while 1,580 abstained. 16,089 voted in favor, and 575 voted against.
With members of the Seoul City Bus Workers' Union voting in favor of the strike, an all-out strike on the upcoming 16th has become possible.
