Markets extended losing streak as Sensex falls 243 points, Nifty ends below 22,750, Titan drops 2.72%
Meanwhile, the Indian rupee traded largely flat near 95.97, up about 0.10 per cent, as crude prices saw some profit booking after recent highs. However, rising bond yields and a stronger Dollar Index continue to keep pressure on the currency.
Stock Market: Indian stock markets closed in losses on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex lost 242 points, while the NSE Nifty lost 64 points. The Sensex opened in losses at 72,633.68 points in the morning.
The stock market remained under pressure for the second consecutive day. The Sensex and Nifty fell near six-month lows on Tuesday. Rising crude oil prices, uncertainty over the situation in West Asia, and continued selling by foreign investors weakened market sentiment.
