Sensex Tanks 539 Points, Nifty Drops Below 24,100 Dragged by HDFC Bank

  • The NSE Nifty declined 116.90 points, or 0.48 per cent, to end at 24,090.85. Meanwhile, the rupee traded weaker, declining about 0.13 per cent to 95.53 as the Dollar Index moved above 99.
  • Foreign Institutional Investors bought equities worth Rs 502.63 crore on Wednesday, according to exchange data. In Asian markets, South Korea's Kospi and Shanghai's SSE Composite index ended higher, while Japan's Nikkei settled lower.
