Two years after her death: Carabineros unveils memorial plaque by Petty Officer Rita Olivares in Quilpué

The second sergeant served in Carabineros for almost 21 years and after her death, on 26 March 2023 in a police procedure, she was promoted posthumously to the maximum rank of her non-commissioned officer Major (SOM).

A senior Carabineros officer was arrested after being caught by staff from a supermarket in San Fernando, in the O'Higgins Region, stealing various products from inside the facility. The institution confirmed the arrest and the beginning of the process of decoupling the official.
