Dr. Furlan (PSD) was elected governor of Amapá in the first round of the 2026 elections. Macapá's former mayor received 281,595 votes, the equivalent of 62.75% of the valid votes, and surpassed the current governor, Clécio Luís (United Brazil), who ended the dispute with 36.97%.
