Lithuania’s parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs has voted 7–2 to approve a proposal removing constitutional restrictions against hosting foreign military bases and weapons of mass destruction, according to tv3.lv on September 9.
The Seimas (Parliament) Committee on Law and Order supported the initiative to delete an article of the Lithuanian Constitution prohibiting the deployment of nuclear weapons in the country, reported to the Lithuanian media on Wednesday. "Seven members of the committee voted in favour of this decision, two opposed", the communication states.
