Seeking to Limit the Interest on Federal Student Loans

Mike Thompson, a federal congressman from the Napa area, presented a bill Wednesday that would put a 2% limit on the interest that can be charged for direct federal loans. “The cost of education is too high, to the point that it prevents many students from going to college, to technical schools, and we need those workers, so whatever we do to facilitate their education, I want to help,” said Thompson who is also co-author of the bill.
