Eight Terrorists Killed in North Waziristan: ISPR

ISPR said the militants were detected moving near the border, and weapons and ammunition were recovered after the engagement.

  • On Wednesday, security forces killed eight terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij in North Waziristan after detecting their movement along the Pak-Afghan border, the Inter-Services Public Relations reported.
  • Pakistan continues its relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under the "Azm-e-Istehkam" vision to eradicate the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan , which the state terms Fitna al Khwarij.
  • Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi hailed forces for "foiling the infiltration attempt by khwarij from across the Afghan border," while sanitisation operations continue to eliminate Indian-sponsored militants in the area.
  • The ISPR demanded the Afghan Taliban Regime "fulfil its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by khwarij," asserting that previous appeals to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries have gone unheeded.
  • President Asif Ali Zardari praised the "timely and effective" action, stating security forces' role defending homeland borders is a "source of pride" amid recent trilateral security talks in Urumqi.
