Man arrested at US Treasury building after climbing gate, agency says
- A U.S. Secret Service spokesperson said: 'At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division officers immediately apprehended an individual who climbed a fence on the southeast side of the U.S. Treasury Building and dropped a bag.'
- On Pennsylvania Avenue, the U.S. Treasury Building is located next to the White House, and a package was found just outside a security perimeter.
- The EOD team cleared the bag, declared the scene safe, and found no explosive materials, following a suspicious package incident near the U.S. Treasury Building.
- According to charges, the suspect faces charges of unlawful entry and fugitive from justice, and he was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
