From 12 to 23 May, the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival takes place, where Romania competes with the film "Fjord", directed by Cristian Mungiu, for the great trophy to be awarded on 23 May.
There are 12 days left in which world cinema moves its residence to the French Riviera. This evening the curtain officially rises at the Cannes Film Festival. Romania also enters the scene with four productions. Fjord, starring Sebastian Stan, is in the official competition for the grand prize. Director Cristian Mungiu could thus win the second Palme d'Or of his career.
