Searching for moose along the Jackrabbit Trail

When I was 7, my mother dragged my younger brother and me on a camping trip to Moosonee on James Bay at the foot of Hudson Bay because she wanted to see a moose. It was her first camping trip (and mine). Our tents and belongings were in paper bags with twine handles and army-green canvas duffel bags from my grandfather’s service in World War II.
