BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, JUL 23 – Janice Turner was sentenced to five years in prison after defrauding multiple luxury goods businesses of over $1 million using fake wire transfers, prosecutors said.
- On July 23, 2025, Janice Turner was sentenced in Miami federal court, to five years in prison for wire fraud, with three years supervised release.
- In April 2023 through March 2024, Janice Turner and Kisean Anderson, stage name Sean Kingston, orchestrated a fraud scheme, leading to their indictment in July 2024 after raids on their Southwest Ranches residence.
- Prosecutors detailed the scheme’s scope, noting $480,000 on two watches, $285,000 on another watch, $159,702.78 on a car, Judge David S. Leibowitz said `wanton lies and wanton leveraging their status as celebrities`.
- She is likely to be deported to Jamaica after her sentence, with a restitution hearing scheduled for Oct. 16.
- On Aug. 28, 2025, Kingston, stage name of Kisean Anderson, with hits 'Beautiful Girls', 'Fire Burning' and 'Eenie Meenie', faces sentencing.
