Scottish Soccer Superfan Walks 3,000 Miles in Kilt to Boston for Men's Mental Health
Ferguson has raised more than $300,000 as he walks 3,000 miles to promote men's mental health awareness.
Scottish soccer superfan Craig Ferguson is nearing the end of his 3,000-mile walk across the United States, passing through Edison, New Jersey, on Monday, and remains on track to finish in Boston by next week.
Starting in Santa Monica, California, on Feb. 25, Ferguson launched his 'tartan trek' as a fundraiser for men's mental health awareness, raising more than $300,000 toward his $1.34 million goal.
Navigating deserts, mountains, and tornado warnings, Ferguson has maintained a pace of 35 to 40 miles per day while wearing a traditional kilt throughout his journey.
Ferguson plans to arrive in Boston by June 13 to see Scotland play Haiti in the World Cup at Gillette Stadium, marking the team's first tournament appearance in 28 years.
Anticipating a "Celtic takeover" in downtown Boston, Ferguson expects tens of thousands of Scotsmen to gather, completing his cross-country mission to unite fans for Scotland's World Cup debut.
