Scott Rogers Awarded British Empire Medal in 2026 King’s Birthday Honours for Services to Disability Sport
Rogers was honored for coaching England’s amputee team to major international success and for helping raise the profile of disability sport.
Scott Rogers, an English football coach from Blackpool, received the British Empire Medal in the 2026 King's Birthday Honours for his services to disability sport.
Rogers joined the England Amputee National Football Team coaching staff in 2020 after over 20 years of experience, including roles at Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic youth academies.
Under his leadership, England captured the inaugural European Amputee Football Federation Nations League title in 2023, finishing undefeated with victories over Poland, Spain, and Turkey.
Describing the recognition as "unexpected and deeply meaningful," Rogers emphasized that the award reflects the efforts of players, staff, and volunteers advancing disability sport.
Beyond the pitch, Rogers advocates for inclusive competition through media roles, serving as a television pundit and match analyst to increase public awareness of disability sport.
