Scots woman reportedly 'went to meet friend' before body found in suitcase

On July 18, a homeless man discovered the body of 38-year-old British woman Elisabeth-Jane Ross inside a suitcase in a derelict building in Athens' Kypseli district. Authorities later identified her using Interpol fingerprint data.
Ross, who arrived from the US via Edinburgh on June 29, was staying with Greek friends in Keratsini before telling them on July 15 she was leaving to meet a group of mystery Americans in Kypseli.

Athens police are investigating the death as a potential "criminal act" with toxicology tests pending to determine the cause. No arrests have been made, and Greek friends have been cleared of wrongdoing.
Interpol and US investigators are assisting Hellenic Police with the probe, focusing efforts on tracing the unidentified Americans Ross mentioned. Officers are also examining the suitcase for forensic evidence to identify a third party.
