Schools canceled after Bumphead engulfed in smoke
Sheriff Eric Bryant reported that a smoke alarm went off at the Primary School at 5:30 a.m. While no fire was discovered, heavy smoke in the area led to the decision to cancel all schools for the day. The smoke is suspected to be residual from agricultural burning. Staff will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Sumter County High School.
