- Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi partners to develop a maritime business district on a 140-acre Karachi Port Trust waterfront site in Karachi, transforming the area into a major commercial hub.
- Maritime Affairs Minister Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said the agreement involves the KPT, NAJD Gateway Holding Company, Arif Habib Dolmen REIT Management Limited , and the Pakistan Corporate Consortium collaborating to unlock waterfront potential.
- Chaudhry stated all legal requirements under Pakistani law will be met before the project proceeds, part of wider initiatives by Islamabad and Riyadh to deepen economic ties in ports, logistics, and trade facilitation.
- Khan assured the delegation that Saudi investors would receive profitable investment models, asserting the development could become one of the region's largest waterfront commercial projects contributing to regional trade.
