Satellite analysis of Bakhmut, the Ukrainian city that fell to Russian forces in May 2023, has found 97.4% of its multi-story residential buildings destroyed—placing it among the most thoroughly demolished urban areas of the war, according to Vot Tak on May 29. The outlet analyzed open-source satellite imagery from October 2024 and assessed 344 residential buildings of three stories or more across the city.
