Sarwar says he will 'absolutely' stay on as Labour leader
Sarwar blamed a national wave against Labour and said he will hold the party together after it won just 17 MSPs, its worst devolution result.
Scottish Labour tied with Reform UK at 17 MSPs in the recent Holyrood election, marking its worst result in devolution history and down from 22 seats five years ago.
Anas Sarwar accepted responsibility for the election strategy and blamed a national wave against Labour across the UK, stating he intends to remain as Scottish Labour leader and hold the party together to oppose the SNP government.
Critics within Labour called for Sarwar and deputy Jackie Baillie to resign immediately, citing a lack of radical policies and a failed campaign strategy.
Despite internal calls for change, Sarwar expressed his commitment to leading the party in Parliament over the next five years to hold the SNP government accountable and deliver for Scotland.
