Sara Cox: 'I'm Not nervous... I Know I Can Do a Good Job'
Cox will add listener favourites from her teatime show as she replaces Scott Mills and takes over the flagship slot with a new format.
On Monday, July 6, broadcaster Sara Cox will launch the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, taking over the flagship slot after hosting the station's teatime program since 2018.
Cox replaces former presenter Scott Mills, who was sacked by the BBC earlier this year after a Metropolitan Police investigation into allegations of historical sexual offences emerged.
Boasting 28 years of radio experience, the 51-year-old brings proven credentials to a program that attracts 6.5m listeners each week, maintaining its status as the UK's biggest breakfast show.
Hollywood actor Tom Hanks will join Cox as her first guest, while she aims to bring the regular listeners from her teatime slot into the morning program.
Despite calling the role "huge," Cox stated she is "not nervous" and has already honed a routine to manage the early 5am start, leaving by 5:30am each day.
