- Dyantyi brings 34 years of operational and leadership experience to a province grappling with entrenched gang violence and organised crime networks. He must provide strategic leadership across six policing districts and 152 police stations.
- Western Cape MEC of Police Oversight and Community Safety Anroux Marais welcomed the appointment, noting Dyantyi's firsthand knowledge of local challenges and emphasizing the need for 'proper resourcing of police stations and tackling gang and organised crime.'
- Premier Alan Winde reiterated that residents 'desperately need a police service that is properly resourced, intelligence-led and capable of effectively combating and preventing violent crime,' committing to closer provincial partnership with SAPS.
- Dimpane expects Dyantyi to drive the SAPS Reset Agenda while strengthening public confidence. Similar leadership transitions are underway in North West, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga, with new commissioners taking office Thursday and Friday.
