SAP dives deeper into Iceberg with Dremio acquisition
- On Monday, SAP announced acquisitions of data lakehouse platform Dremio and AI model maker Prior Labs to strengthen its enterprise data foundation for agentic AI deployments.

- Addressing infrastructure gaps, SAP CTO Philipp Herzig stated, "Enterprise AI doesn't stall because the models aren't good enough; it stalls because the data isn't ready for AI agents." Dremio's platform integrates non-SAP data for real-time workloads.
- At SAP Sapphire 2026 next week, CEO Christian Klein will detail fundamental portfolio changes, including agentic AI governance and domain knowledge infusion into SAP AI agents.
- Unlike Large Language Models , Tabular Foundation Models are purpose-built to predict business outcomes using structured data, addressing challenges in retrofitting models across complex finance stacks.
