Santander to shut 44 branches and put 291 jobs at risk
- Santander UK announced plans to close 44 branches across the UK, publishing a list with affected towns and closure dates.
- Santander said the move responds to customers increasingly banking online, with 96% of transactions now digital and branch transactions falling by 13% last year.
