Devers Helps Giants Pull Away for Victory over Dodgers
Devers reached base four times as San Francisco posted a season-high six walks and 12 hits in a 9-3 win over Los Angeles.
On Monday night at Dodger Stadium, The Giants opened their 10-game road trip with a 9-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, led by Devers who reached base four times including a home run.
San Francisco's offense generated a season-high 12 hits and 6 walks during the victory. The team has scored at least five runs in four of their last seven games following a roster shakeup.
Right-Hander Trevor McDonald allowed three runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings in his second start. Relief pitcher Matt Gage preserved the tie by retiring MVP Shohei Ohtani in a critical moment.
The Giants took a 6-3 lead in the seventh inning when Devers drew a bases-loaded walk and Willy Adames drove in two runs with a single, putting the game out of reach.
With stolen bases from Casey Schmitt and Jes Rodríguez, The Giants successfully swiped multiple bags in a single game for the first time this season, adding another dimension to their offensive resurgence.
