Salinas receive signature verification for repeal referendum for rent-related ordinances
SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) - The City of Salinas announced that it has received a signature verification for the Protect Salinas Renter petition over the rent-related ordinances. The Registrar of Voters has completed their review, providing a certificate of Signature Verification that reflects the number of valid registered voter signatures, which meets the 10 percent requirement.
Protect Salinas Renters gathers enough signatures for a referendum on reversal of renter protection ordinances.
On Friday, Aug. 15, the Monterey County Registrar of Voters certified that Protect Salinas Renters had gathered enough signatures—10 percent of registered voters, or 6,998 signatures—to move forward with a referendum.
