The Uruguayan economy recorded an annual growth of 3.4% in the first quarter of 2025, according to data released on Wednesday by the Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU). Compared to the last quarter of 2024, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 0.5% in seasonalized terms. The performance exceeded the expectations generated by the Monthly Economic Activity Indicator (MAE), which had anticipated a more moderate expansion.
