In the Sahel, a new citizens' coalition has emerged. It is the Alliance of Democrats of the Sahel (ADS), created on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. This new collective, launched from abroad, brings together members of civil society, politicians and other active forces from Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, precisely to confront the juntas that lead the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
A group of Malian, Burkinabe and Nigerien citizens living in exile announced on Tuesday the creation of the Alliance of Democrats of the Sahel (ADS), a movement that intends to defend public freedoms and work towards a return to constitutional order in these countries ruled by military regimes.
A new citizens' coalition, the Alliance of Sahel Democrats, has been launched to confront the juntas in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger. Created from abroad, the group brings together civil society actors and political leaders.
