S&P/TSX composite edges higher in late-morning trading, U.S. stocks lower

Industrials lifted the TSX as the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell, while the Canadian dollar and oil and gold futures also declined.

TORONTO — Canada's main stock index edged higher in late-morning trading helped by gains in the industrials sector, while U.S. stock markets moved lower. The S&P/TSX composite index was up 10.72 points at 36,643.84.
