Ryanair Boss Slams 'Gobbledygook' EU Rule Change to Flight Bookings

On Tuesday, June 16, Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary criticized new EU flight regulations, calling changes to air passenger rights "gobbledygook" and "bureaucratic bunkum" in a statement published on the airline's website.
The updated regulations require airlines to display fares including at least one carry-on bag before booking, a change Ryanair claims will mislead passengers seeking the lowest fares.
O'Leary argued the regulations force airlines to falsely advertise higher fares despite over 50% of passengers choosing lower-cost options without second cabin bags, while broader issues like ETS taxation harm competitiveness.
