Hollywood Stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds to Front Sailing Docuseries
The series will follow the Australian team through the SailGP Championship and show how Jackman and Reynolds join the ownership group.
- Disney+ greenlit an untitled docuseries starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, following their journey as co-owners of the BONDS Flying Roos, an Australian sailing team in the SailGP Championship.
- Led on the water by driver and CEO Tom Slingsby, an Olympic gold medallist and three-time SailGP champion, the team provides the docuseries' central focus.
- Racing at speeds exceeding 60 miles per hour, national teams compete in the Rolex SailGP Championship using identical 50-foot catamarans for a $12.8 million prize.
- Wrexham AFC co-chairman Rob McElhenney will serve as executive producer through More Better Productions, expanding Disney's slate of celebrity-owned sports docuseries.
- "We once again anticipate action, comedy, heart but with a lot more water," Jackman and Reynolds said in a statement; the series launches on Disney+ and Hulu.
