GRAND FORKS — Ryan Bakken was a witty, insightful and creative storyteller as a legendary writer and columnist at the Grand Forks Herald for more than four decades. Inside the Herald offices, he was known as a remarkable teacher and tough boss while carrying out his other duties as sports editor.
