Rwanda: Over 100 More Facilities Closed Amid Crackdown On Illicit Alcohol
Regulators ordered recalls and sales stops as officials said illicit alcohol has caused more than 50 deaths and left 100 people blind.

- Minister of Health Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana reported that over 500 people sought medical treatment due to illicit alcohol, with over 95% of youth in rehabilitation centers linked to alcohol abuse.
- Manufacturers have been instructed to "immediately initiate a full recall of the products" and submit reports within three working days, while distributors must return all stock to suppliers.
- The Rwanda FDA continues its nationwide enforcement exercise and warned that failure to comply with directives will trigger additional enforcement measures; a second list of affected facilities will be issued soon.
