(Reuters) -Congo's government and Rwanda-backed rebels said on Thursday they would send delegations back to Qatar for peace talks, as Washington pushes for an end to fighting that could help unlock billions in mining investments.
The latest report of the UN expert group on the conflict in the eastern DRC, released on Wednesday 2 July, re-launchs the accusations against Rwanda. The text, which RFI was able to consult, notes a massive presence of Rwandan soldiers – up to 6,000 men – on Congolese soil between January and May 2025, and cites the names of several senior Rwandan officials directly involved in the operations.
