Gavin & Stacey Star Ruth Jones to Reprise Role of Nessa in New BBC Programme

On Monday, Ruth Jones reprised her Gavin & Stacey character Nessa in Ruth And Steve: From Porthcawl With Love, broadcast on BBC One Wales at 9pm, in a surprise cameo co-produced with ITV Wales.
Framed by Porthcawl's 200th birthday, the episode follows Jones and Speirs exploring the town as Jones revisits childhood home movies made by her late father Richard and visits her mother, siblings, and two lifelong friends about 20 miles from Barry Island.
During their visit to Coney Beach, Speirs found Nessa behind a kiosk, and he said `Tell you what's really interesting about this, is that when the idea came up...now I've never acted with Nessa`.
A guest appearance featured Rob Brydon reading a historic letter in a Richard Burton impression, while the episode highlighted Stan Stennett and the Grand Pavilion.
Gavin & Stacey's history shows it first aired in 2007 and ended last year, with its 2024 Christmas Day finale drawing more than 19 million viewers and 19.1million after seven-days.
