Oil-contaminated rain and heavy smog have blanketed the Russian port city of Tuapse after Ukrainian drone strikes hit nearby oil facilities. Residents report black droplets falling from the sky and air that is difficult to breathe, despite authorities saying the situation is under control.
As part of its defence struggle, Ukraine is increasingly attacking the Russian energy industry – most recently a refinery on the Black Sea. The environmental damage is massive.

"The fire at the Tuapse marine terminal has been brought under control and the open flames have been extinguished. Work is continuing to completely extinguish the fire," the headquarters of the South Krasnodar Territory reported on its Telegram channel.
