The Russian Ministry of Defence has acknowledged the loss of an An-26 military transport aircraft while flying over the Crimean peninsula this Tuesday afternoon. “The six crew members and 23 passengers on board died,” Moscow announced in a statement without further explanation. That same day Russian military aircraft also lost another Su-34 fighter bomber, according to Russian Telegram military channels.
The An-26 transport plane crashed into a rock, and according to the Russian Defense Ministry, a technical fault may have been the cause.
