Russian drone and cruise missile attacks kill at least 2 in Ukraine
UKRAINE, JUL 12 – Ukrainian air defenses intercepted over half of nearly 600 Russian drones and missiles launched in a large-scale overnight attack on western cities, causing civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.
- On Saturday, July 12, Russian forces launched a drone and missile barrage on western Ukraine, killing at least two in Chernivtsi near Romania.
- Since June 2025, Russia has intensified drone and missile strikes aiming to breach Ukraine's 1,000-kilometer front line, targeting western cities previously considered safe.
