New Ukrainian drone strikes on oil infrastructure are causing a fuel shortage in Russia that is worse than the one in May. The Kremlin is said to be addressing the problem by importing low-quality gasoline and increasing domestic production, while stepping up its retaliatory strikes.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak confirmed that Russia has begun importing fuel, in the context of Ukrainian attacks disrupting refineries, reducing gas supply and imposing rationalisation.
Novak said the Russian government expects an increase in gasoline deliveries to the domestic market.
