Russian court orders US citizen suspected of drug smuggling held in custody

A Moscow court has ordered U.S. Citizen Kalob Wayne Byers to be held in pre-trial detention for 30 days on suspicion of drug smuggling, according to the Moscow courts press service.
Byers was detained after customs officials found cannabis-laced marmalade in his baggage at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, as reported by the Interfax agency.
The Washington-Moscow prisoner exchange involved the return of Alexander Vinnik to Russia and American Marc Fogel to the U.S., as part of a diplomatic thaw, according to the White House.
Fogel had been designated as wrongfully detained by President Joe Biden's administration in December.
