The Russian mass attacks that were scheduled on Saturday Kievul had destroyed the buildings of the Orthodox monastery Lavra Pecerska, a site included in UNESCO World Heritage site, announced the Ministry of Culture in Ukraine for months.
According to Ukraine's Ministry of Culture, the facade, doors and windows of two buildings, including a church, were damaged and a technical inspection will soon be carried out to "assess their structures."
The Laure des Grottes, famous for its golden domes, had made the headlines in recent years after the expulsion of its monks, accused of links with Moscow.
