Russia to show Su-57E with new weapon at Egypt airshow
Rostec will show the export jet’s new weapon and aerobatic display as the airshow draws more than 200 exhibitors, organizers said.
- Rostec will unveil undisclosed new weaponry on its Su-57E fighter at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026 in Egypt next week, performing aerobatic maneuvers during the September 8-10 display.
- Although neither Moscow nor Algiers has officially confirmed the deal, Algeria is widely reported as the first export customer for the Su-57E, which the United Aircraft Corporation has previously showcased in China and other markets.
- The event will host more than 200 exhibitors and expects over 10,000 visitors from across Africa and the Middle East, with Rosoboronexport organizing the unified Russian exhibit on Egypt's Mediterranean coast.
- During the DSA-2026 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur this April, Rosoboronexport signed additional export agreements for the Su-57E without disclosing the specific countries or aircraft numbers involved.
- Egypt previously halted a planned purchase of roughly 30 Su-35 fighters in 2021 and 2022 amid U.S. sanctions concerns, with some jets built for that canceled order later redirected to Iran.
