Russell Howard Announces as Baby Son Died 'Shortly After Birth'
Howard said hospital staff showed extraordinary compassion and that he is creating a foundation to support families affected by baby loss.
On Friday, comedian Russell Howard announced that his son Felix died shortly after birth earlier this year, a loss he and wife Cerys Morgan had kept private until now.
Howard expressed deep gratitude for hospital staff's "extraordinary compassion," particularly praising bereavement midwife Lauren, who had experienced similar tragedy and retrained to help grieving families.
In Felix's memory, the couple established The Felix Foundation to relieve needs of families affected by miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, and neonatal death through midwife training and emotional support resources.
Howard will host a charity gala at London's O2 Arena on February 8, 2027, featuring comedians Jimmy Carr, Greg Davies, and John Bishop performing free to raise foundation funds.
Tickets for the gala go on sale Thursday, September 10, as Howard hopes The Felix Foundation's legacy will bring kindness and support to families facing similar devastating loss.
