Rugby-Leinster Win URC Again with 36-7 Thrashing of Bulls | Sports-Games
On Friday, Leinster secured their 10th United Rugby Championship title, defeating South Africa's Bulls 36-7 at Croke Park to become the first team to successfully defend the URC trophy.
Following a disappointing defeat to Bordeaux in the European Champions Cup final last month, the Irish side showed greater attacking intent, outscoring the Bulls five tries to one.
Man of the match Sam Prendergast joined Tommy O'Brien, Rieko Ioane, Jack Conan, and Harry Byrne in scoring tries, with Prendergast noting, "No one's won this trophy back to back, now we have."
Leinster captain Caelan Doris and O'Brien left the field in the first half with injuries; Doris confirmed the issues require further examination ahead of Ireland's Nations Championship opener against Australia on July 4.
The game served as a final appearance for winger James Lowe, who served the province for nine years, while Coach Leo Cullen praised the squad's physical performance in clinching the historic back-to-back title.
