RTÜK suspends programs on pro-opposition networks over remarks on religion, Erdoğan - Turkish Minute
Turkey’s media watchdog has imposed program suspension penalties and maximum fines on opposition broadcasters Sözcü TV and TELE1 for airing statements deemed to violate national values and insult the president.
When the words “Türkiye is not a Muslim country” and “Junta President” echoed on the screens, RTÜK stepped in and imposed heavy fines on both channels.
The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed an administrative fine of up to the maximum on Sözcü TV and TELE1 due to statements that violate broadcasting principles. Click for more
