Serbia's politicians return to debates ahead of parliamentary election
A month before the early parliamentary elections, Serbia's high ranking politicians from the ruling and opposition parties engaged in a debate on the N1 channel after a prolonged boycott between the anti-government station and officials. The ownership change provided a new opportunity for dialogue.
Radio-television of Serbia today invited the holder of the list "United Serbia - Aleksandar Vučić" to Aleksandar Vučić and the first on the list "Student list - Students are winning" to Ilija Srdanović for a debate as part of the pre-election campaign for the extraordinary parliamentary elections.
The media team "Studentske liste-Studenti pobeđuje" responded today to RTS' invitation to a TV debate, in which the "list holders" Ilija Srdanović and Aleksandar Vučić for the "United Serbia" list would participate. "When we receive more precise information about the debates, we will consider who from our list fits the proposed topic and format and respond to you in a timely manner," they stated in response to the invitation [...]
"To the Public Service of Serbia: 18 days have passed since the announcement of the elections. There are no images or voices of any candidate from the Student List on your program. Neither images nor tones. Now we are to give artificial respiration to incompetent political drownings? Finally, be the public service of all citizens of Serbia," replied Srdanović on social networks.
Ilija Srdanović, the first on the Student List, responded to RTS's invitation to participate in a debate with Aleksandar Vučić and a representative of the Crta organization.
