Randal Lewis: Friendly neighborhood airport shuttle driver - The Xenia Gazette

Summary
XENIA — Randal Lewis, 74, retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1998 after 28 years of service as an industrial engineering technician. But his retirement did not last long. Lewis filled in at a local building supply store before it went out of business, then he got his commercial drivers license to be a substitute bus driver. In 2015, Lewis used his experience driving to work as a shuttle driver for Xenia Senior Center. Four years ago, Lewis began his own airport shuttle business. “I was just looking for something where I could get into a small business without a lot of overhead,” Lewis said. “It’s not a profitable business but it makes a little extra money, that is nice.” Lewis acquired a Ford Explorer from his sister and began advertising to customers at the Xenia Senior Center. After retiring from there, he decided to do more to market himself to residents of the Xenia area. He purchased magnetic signs for his car doors.
