Royal Mail Unveils 12 Queen Elizabeth II Centenary Stamps

The 12-stamp set includes eight life photographs and a four-stamp miniature sheet celebrating her affection for horses and dogs, Royal Mail said.

  • Royal Mail introduced 12 Special Stamps today to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth. Customers can pre-order the collection from the Royal Mail website before general sale begins on April 21.
  • Her Majesty served as the British sovereign for 70 years, becoming the nation's longest-reigning monarch. Throughout her reign, the late Queen was an ever-present feature on stamps, depicted using the Wilding, Machin, or Gillick designs.
  • Eight stamps feature milestone moments, including the 1953 Coronation balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace. A separate miniature sheet of four stamps highlights the late Queen's private passions with beloved horses and dogs.
  • A Presentation Pack including all 12 stamps costs £22.50. David Gold, Royal Mail director of external affairs and policy, said the stamps pay tribute to the late Queen, whose "commitment to duty was unparalleled in history."
  • Royal events will occur around April 21, the date she would have turned 100, to commemorate her life. Charles has reportedly prepared a speech highlighting the legacy and service of his mother.
