Rotterdam alderman candidate Eva Heijblom (D66) did not receive enough votes to take her seat on the municipal executive. During the council meeting in which the aldermen were installed, the vote revealed that her fellow party member Joan Nunnely had received more votes. Heijblom received 21 votes, while Nunnely received 23.
The vote for alderman candidates in Rotterdam resulted in an unexpected outcome on Thursday evening. Eva Heijblom (D66) received fewer votes than a fellow party member, even though Heijblom's election was supposed to be a formality. There were even flowers waiting for her.
